Services

KAVI offers a wide range of services from film digitization to content rating and screenings all over Finland.

Services that are provided free of charge include low-cost depository services and services related to international cultural exchange. Basic information services such as telephone services, research guidance and presentations about KAVI’s operations for visiting groups are also provided free of charge.

However, KAVI does charge the fees listed on the current fee schedule when more extensive work with the collections is required. An hourly rate is billed for services such as conservation work and materials handling.

Paid services are regulated by the Act on Criteria for Charges Payable to the State of 1992 and the decree on paid services issued by the Ministry of Education in 2005.

The Ministry of Education and Culture sets the fees for public services carried out by the Media Education and Audiovisual Programmes Unit by decree.
